An important part of our strategy is to replenish our portfolio with acquisitions to ensure the growth of the business which includes former industrial sites, PPA opportunities and Joint Ventures.
Our reputation is built on a fast, no-nonsense delivery, with flexibility and our ability to transact, however complex the land acquisition. Our streamlined decision structure reduces deal timescales and our flexibility allows deals that give the best outcome to all stakeholders.
Our regional acquisition teams – supported by a central function of industry experts – comprise of land and property professionals to lead on securing new opportunities and planning permissions to optimise the value of our landbank by delivering major commercial, residential and low-carbon developments.

Ultimately, any sites that are acquired and taken through the planning process are either retained as assets, to generate income from direct development, or used to generate receipts from consented and engineered plot sales.
Key Achievements in 2018
In 2018, our key acquisition achievements included the purchase of eleven sites for around £60m including Ironbridge Power Station and Nufarm. These new sites are already providing £3.1m of additional recurring income per annum and have the potential to deliver around 2,000 new homes and over 1.5m sq ft of commercial space.

Do You Have a Land Opportunity?
Our preference is to secure new opportunities without planning permission, but we will consider major mixed-use development sites with a planning consent or allocation. If you have an opportunity you would like to send us for consideration, please initially contact acquisitions@harworthgroup.com
