The knowledge and expertise gained by Harworth in remediating former industrial sites has led to the company identifying and realising the value from materials once considered to be waste.
The past five years has seen the company's in-house Operations team sell coal slurry, metals, concrete and fill material that has been recovered from preparing land for redevelopment. This has included extracting and selling over 1m tonnes of coal slurry operators across the UK between 2011 and 2015, including International Power Ltd and Drax.
Our reliable coal slurry supply remains in place, with supply available from Pontefract in the North through to Warwickshire in the Midlands. At Rufford for instance, we are able to store up to 50,000 tonnes of fines at any one time in order to reduce supply risk in adverse conditions when demand is usually at its highest.
