We have an excellent track record in bringing forward brownfield land ready for residential development, reflected by our strong working relationships with housebuilders.
Much of our strategic landholding realises value from the promotion, planning and investment in residential land. We are expert in creating a vision and masterplanning for this purpose, prior to then seeking planning consents from local planning authorities.
Our team of professionals promote the land at various stages of the planning process, including progressing Local Plan allocations, gaining outline and detailed planning consents and finally, working with development partners to successfully deliver projects. Our size and experience means that we have strong relationships with local planning authorities and we have secured consent for over 11,000 housing plots on our sites since 2008, including consent for nearly 4,000 homes at Waverley – Yorkshire’s largest ever brownfield mixed-use redevelopment.
Following the receipt of consent, our in-house engineering team then remediates and prepares land for sale to housebuilders, whether to provide small, rural infill plots or as part of creating entirely new communities. We have been responsible for remediating some of the most complex brownfield sites in the UK ready for residential development, including the rehabilitation of former colliery sites and large-scale industrial assets such as power stations and aluminium smelters.
We are proud that some of our major projects are recognised as leading UK examples of brownfield regeneration. Our Waverley development in Rotherham and the Prince of Wales development in Pontefract are superb examples of regenerating sites to create excellent places for people to make their home.
