Harworth Group Raise Over £18,000 for Charity Partner LandAid in 2019

Harworth Group has raised over £18,000 for LandAid in 2019 through various donations and fundraising initiatives to support their cause to end youth homelessness across the UK.

As part of the delivery of Harworth’s Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, the business chose LandAid as their partner of choice following a decision from its staff to support the property industry’s charity. 2019 began with Harworth making an initial financial donation to help support various LandAid projects and schemes across the North of England and the Midlands, including the refurbishment of a house (pictured above) that will eventually home around 6 young people in the South Yorkshire region, owned and managed by LandAid funded charity, Roundabout.

In March, ten members of the Harworth team also took part in the Tour de Yorkshire cycling event, fundraising a further £4,500. During this festive period, Harworth has also made an additional donation to LandAid as an alternative to sending out Christmas cards. All fundraising initiatives were kindly matched £ for £ by Harworth Group plc in 2019, further supporting the efforts of the team.

“We’re extremely proud to support LandAid as our charity partner of choice and its pleasing to hear that our donations and fundraising are making a tangible difference to help support a better future for hundreds of young people. We look forward to supporting and working with LandAid further in 2020.”

Owen Michaelson, Chief Executive of Harworth Group plc

“Our Foundation Partners are the bedrock of LandAid. Without their commitment to us, we couldn’t make the commitments we do to charities around the country who are fighting youth homelessness in their community. Together, we can end youth homelessness, and we are delighted that Harworth and its employees have shown such incredible support for our mission, whether it be cycling across Yorkshire, or visiting our local projects, it has been brilliant to see the enthusiasm, support and positivity their employees have had. We hope this is the first year of many in partnership!”

Michael Regan, Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager at LandAid

As part of Harworth’s wider charity commitment through its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, a significant donation was also made to The Wildlife Trust in 2019 to support biodiversity work, in addition to supporting a number of other local causes close to its major development sites.
