Responsibility

Modern Slavery

Modern slavery is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights and unfortunately still exists in the world today.

Modern slavery is a term used to encompass slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, bonded and child labour and human trafficking. Victims are coerced, deceived and forced against their free will into providing work or services. Human trafficking is where a person arranges or facilitates the travel of another person with a view to that person being exploited.

Forms of modern slavery may include, but are not limited to, withholding of passports, being forced to work against a person’s will, depending on the employer for housing, food, and other necessities, being recruited through some form of debt arrangement, such as an advance or loan, and limitations on movement of workers.

Harworth strictly prohibits the use of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chain. We are committed to implementing systems and controls aimed at ensuring that modern slavery is not taking place anywhere within our organisation or in any of our supply chains. We expect that all members of our supply chain hold themselves and their own suppliers to the same high standards.

We continually review the measures we have in place, including monitoring industry best practice.

Speak Up – We Are Listening

We aim to encourage an environment of openness and trust and will support anyone who raises concerns in good faith, even if they turn out to be mistaken, in line with our Speak Up Policy. You can read our full Speak Up Policy here.

You can reach out to our General Counsel at any time to raise concerns. This support is offered to all our employees, but is also extended to our contractors, suppliers, stakeholders, and partners.

However, we do appreciate that there are times where you may not feel comfortable raising concerns internally. To ensure everyone has a route to voice any concerns, we also operate a Harworth dedicated Speak Up Line, run by an independent third party, NAVEX Global.

If you witness or suspect any illegal or unethical behaviour you can raise your concerns in confidence. You can contact this Speak Up Line at any time using the details below:
