HEAD OF ORGANISATIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND PERFORMANCE (ROTHERHAM/LEEDS/MANCHESTER OR BIRMINGHAM OFFICE)
Working with the Group Resources & Transformation Director, this new and exciting role will contribute to the shaping of Harworth’s transformation strategy and lead where appropriate the activity to deliver it. With a clear focus on achieving a diverse range of organisational development and design projects, this role is instrumental to facilitating the changes we need to make to continue the trajectory of rapid growth towards our financial goal of £1bn EPRA NDV.
This role is responsible for the following core requirements:
- Strategic Thinking – designing strategies, plans and approaches.

- Continuous Improvement – continuously facilitating learning and opportunities to improve and adapt to change.
- Results Focus – delivering tenaciously to brief, budget and timescales.

The role entails a strong capacity for understanding and navigating complex systems, and identifying linkages, gaps and opportunities within them. It requires high impact communication capacity, strong facilitation skills, experience in delivering to externally recognised project management methodology, along with the ability to design and put in place collaborative processes and frameworks with multiple internal and external stakeholders to bring about change which saves cost, and effort and improves value, efficiency and experience. The postholder is expected to be deeply principled, acting as an advocate and behavioural change agent to drive momentum for Harworth’s organisational development aspirations towards 2027.

The role will report directly to the Group Resources & Transformation Director and will work closely with the wider Resources & Transformation team, third party specialist consultants, Executive Team as well as stakeholders across the business.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline such as economics, business administration/management, or social sciences, or the equivalent relevant career experience. It would be desirable for the individual to be qualified in Lean Six SIGMA/Agile/SPM and have demonstrable experience working in organisational development for operations in a large organisational and/or functional business unit. Applications from those with SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) are encouraged.
To be successful in this role you will need to have extensive relevant experience in strategy, organisational development, design and innovation; and demonstrable experience in commercial management and in leading and managing change and senior stakeholders in a commercial setting.
