The heart of advanced manufacturing in the UK
The Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) at Waverley is Harworth’s flagship development and is home to some of the World’s biggest manufacturers including Rolls Royce, Boeing and McLaren Automotive. Technology developed at the AMP is already being used in leading edge applications including Formula One, the military and commercial aircraft.
Located off Junction 33 of the M1, the highly successful AMP site has been developed on 150-acres of space that forms part of the wider 740-acre Waverley scheme and benefits from Government enterprise zone status within the Sheffield City Region. The vision of the AMP emerged from the decline that South Yorkshire had suffered in its traditional industries of coal and steel over the many decades. Despite this decline, the region had retained established skills and expertise in the areas of advanced manufacturing, backed by materials research expertise within the two Sheffield universities, and other independent research organisations.

Masterplan
Location
The AMP sits within the Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation District
(AMID) located within the Sheffield City Region, which provides support
for companies involved in the high-end manufacturing and engineering
sectors. The aim of the AMID is to create a new centre of excellence targeting
collaboration between occupiers within the district.
It is also anchored by the world-renowned University of Sheffield Advanced
Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
