Development Progress
A £7.5m infrastructure and ground works programme for the entire site, facilitating build-to-suit plots for buildings from 8,000 sq ft up to 515,500 sq ft is now complete.
In 2017, the site was safeguarded as a site to be used for the rolling stock depot for the eastern leg of High Speed 2. Since then, Harworth has liaised extensively with Ministers in the Department for Transport and BEIS and officials within HS2 Ltd in order to unlock the land for development.
In April 2019, the joint venture sold 10 acres of the site’s ‘North plot’ to the University of Leeds to build a major research facility that will be home to the University’s Institute for High Speed Rail and System Integration, creating a thriving hub for future engineers.
