Harworth Estates have sold 10 acres of land to Gleeson Homes. Work is underway on site in turning an area of vacant land off Barnburgh Lane in the Barnsley area into a development of 148 new homes.
Tim Love, director at Harworth Estates, said: “As custodians of over 30,000 acres of land across the country, Harworth Estates endeavours to work with the most appropriate housebuilders in each region and this Gleeson Homes project more than meets our objectives, with new low cost homes that answer a specific local demand. This development puts a greenfield site to very good use and satisfies the need for more housing in Goldthorpe on the East side of Barnsley.”
Richard Smith, partner at hlw Keeble Hawson who acted for Harworth Estates, said: “This transaction has provided an ideal match between the ethics of two parties who are strongly committed to sustainable, affordable housing solutions for local communities. These homes will benefit local people by providing a more attainable first step on the property ladder for first time buyers.”
