Waverley set for Summer Gala on 13th July

Families in the area looking for exciting new things to do this July are invited to celebrate the start of the school holidays and join in the fun at the first ever Waverley Summer Gala.

The free event – hosted by Harworth Estates, a driving force behind the regeneration of Waverley – takes place on Saturday 13th July from 10am to 3pm off Mitchell Way (opposite the Advanced Manufacturing Park) and is open to the whole community.

The company is working in partnership with Brinsworth Comprehensive School and Brinsworth Learning Community and the three housebuilders (Barratt Homes, Harron Homes and Taylor Wimpey) that are delivering the first phase of new homes on the land, to provide a fun filled day for those living in and visiting the area.

The gala will be opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham and is set to be a fabulous day for the whole family. There will be an unmissable array of activities for event goers to enjoy including: live music, a performance from hit musical ‘Grease’ by the pupils of Brinsworth Comprehensive School, GCSE artwork display, circus skills workshops, face-painting, a bouncy castle and of course lots of delicious refreshments.

Throughout the day, families can expect a jam-packed timetable to keep the kids entertained with lots of competitions including treasure hunts and a lucky dip, all of which have been arranged by the event partners.

Anyone who happens to be in the market for a new home or just fancies some design inspiration is welcome to pay a visit to one of the fabulous show homes situated across the road from the event.

Barratt, Harron and Taylor Wimpey collectively offer some of the most beautiful show properties in the area and boast a range of designs which suit the needs of the region’s full spectrum of buyers.

Liz Askam, Surveyor for Harworth Estates said: “We are delighted to host the Waverley Summer Gala and would like to pay special thanks to our event partners as it would have been impossible without their fantastic support.

“It is set to be a brilliant day out for the whole family and we really do have some first class entertainment and a host of stands and attractions to suit all tastes.

“We look forward to welcoming all visitors and are positive that the event will be a great success.”
