Harworth Wins Prestigious ‘Commercial Developer of the Year’ Award

Harworth Estates walked off with yet another award this week as it was named Yorkshire Business Insider’s ‘Commercial Developer of the Year’ for 2014.

Assembled guests at the awards ceremony at the Royal Armouries in Leeds heard that Harworth had won the award for making development ‘look easy’ in the way the company has brought forward development at Waverley, Rossington (as part of the FARRRS programme) and at the former Prince of Wales Colliery over the past 12 months.

The award was accepted by Business Space Director Campbell Carruth, the man responsible for R-evolution @ the AMP at Waverley – Yorkshire’s first speculative development since the economic downturn.  He said:

“I’m delighted we’ve been recognised by the Insider for the progress we’ve made as a company over the past 12 months.  The entire team has worked tirelessly across Yorkshire to get commercial and residential development off the ground and the award is a tribute to them.”

This award is the fourth award Harworth have won in the past four years from the Insider, having won ‘Commercial Property Deal of the Year’ in 2012 in both Yorkshire and South Yorkshire for Rolls-Royce’s purchase of land at the AMP, followed by 2013’s ‘Property Deal of the Year’ in South Yorkshire for the sale of the Evolution Business Park – also at the AMP.

The next 12 months will see even further progress being made on its Yorkshire landholdings.  At Waverley, Units 3 and 4 of ‘R-evolution’ will be complete ready for fit-out by the start of November, with Harron Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Barratts continuing their housebuilding programme.  Housebuilding is also due to begin at both Prince of Wales and Rossington in early 2015, subject to housebuilders receiving detailed planning consent from Wakefield Council and Doncaster Council respectively.
