Between 2012 and 2016, Taylor Wimpey, Harron Homes and Barratt Homes were the first housebuilders on site to deliver the first 500 homes. In 2017, Avant became the fourth housebuilder purchasing two plots of land to build 220 and 61 homes. In the same year, Taylor Wimpey also purchased land to increase their presence further with 130 new homes with land also sold to Sky House Company (Waverley) Limited (“Sky House”) for the build of 40 two-bedroom units and four four-bedroom family homes. It will be employing its unique Sky-House concept – a re-imagining of Victorian ‘back-to-back’ terraced homes for modern day living.
In June 2019 Harworth sold the latest residential phase – known as ‘Delta’ – to Barratt Homes to build 177 new homes – the first sale to be made on the east side of the development. The sale of this land was made possible by the extension of the Highfield Lane spine road, which is now fully complete and unlocks the site for future residential phases.
The site is currently expanding at a rate of around 150 homes per year with strong sales reported by all housebuilders, reflecting the popularity of the site and the speed at which Harworth has made land available. This has created the birth of a new community and once fully built out over the next 10 years, will see a bustling population of around 9,000 people living in a green and attractive lakeside development. Including the AMP, the Waverley scheme is also expected to contribute over £1bn to the local economy.
