Harworth Estates secures contract with Rolls-Royce plc and three major house builders as part of its regeneration programme for its Waverley site

Harworth Estates has exchanged contracts with Rolls-Royce plc on 17.4 acres of land at its Waverley site near Rotherham, South Yorkshire to build a high-tech manufacturing facility.

The new manufacturing facility will be located on Harworth Estates’ Advanced Manufacturing Park (“AMP”), the UK’s premier advanced manufacturing technology park. This site is within the area that is being promoted as the Sheffield City Region Enterprise Zone.

Centrally located, Waverley offers a pool of skilled labour and excellent transport links to all parts of the UK and the rest of the world.

Harworth Estates has also agreed contracts with Taylor Wimpey, Harron Homes and Barratt Homes to build new homes on their Waverley site marking the first phase of residential development

The house builders will acquire a total of 20 acres for an initial 254 homes and have all submitted their detailed design planning applications.  It is anticipated that these will be determined in the first quarter of 2012 with the infrastructure and spine road access to the housing site expected to start in spring 2012. The first houses offered for sale is anticipated by the end of 2012.

This development will be part of the sustainable new community comprising of nearly 4000 new homes and community facilities such as schools, medical centres retail and leisure.
