Fun at the Waverley Summer Gala

Waverley’s first ever summer gala was held in glorious sunshine at the new residential development on Saturday 13 July.

Waverley was honoured with the presence of the Mayor and Mayoress of Rotherham, John and Kath Foden, who gave a short speech and officially opened the event before mingling with stallholders and attendees.

The event was attended by over 300 people from the local area, who enjoyed the free bouncy castle, face painting, games and circus skills. In addition there were several stalls selling craft, beauty and food items, from hand-made felt art to lovingly decorated cupcakes.

Gala goers were also treated to musical performances and cookery and horticulture demonstrations from the pupils of Brinsworth Comprehensive School, and had the opportunity to view the beautiful show homes of Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Harron Homes.

Liz Askam, Surveyor at Harworth Estates, commented “It was fantastic to see lots of people having fun at the gala, which has added to the community feel developing at Waverley. I would like to thank my colleagues, and partners at Brinsworth Comprehensive School, Barratt Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Harron Homes, whose support enabled the event to be such a success.”
