Pontefract Residents Invited to Find Out More About Prince of Wales Redevelopment

Harworth Estates is inviting Pontefract residents to find out more about its ongoing redevelopment of the former Prince of Wales Colliery at an all-day ‘drop-in’ session at Pontefract Town Hall on the 3rd of September.

Harworth received planning consent from Wakefield Council for 917 homes, new employment space and community facilities on the former Pit Yard site in December 2013 and this event marks an important stage in the site’s development.

Representatives from Harworth Estates, Spawforths and Ben Bailey Homes will have their plans displayed and will be on hand to take questions from Members of the public on how works are progressing on site, the intended design code for the development and plans for future housebuilding at the Prince of Wales site.

The event will take place in the Nelson Room at Pontefract Town Hall between 10.30AM and 7PM on Wednesday 3rd September. Although the event is aimed at local residents, all members of the public are welcome to attend.

Chris Davidson, Harworth Estates Development Manager for the Prince of Wales scheme, said “We’re keen to tell local residents about how we’re progressing on-site and what we have planned. We think we’ve put together a really exciting redevelopment plan to meet the demand for new homes in the area and look forward to sharing this further.”

Cllr Denise Jeffery, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Skills at Wakefield Council said: “This event is a great opportunity for local residents to find out more about the redevelopment of the former Prince of Wales Colliery. I would encourage local residents or anyone wanting to find out more about the proposed works to call in and take a look at the plans.”
