N1 Golf and Harworth Estates Opens Driving Range in Swadlincote

The doors finally opened at the Swadlincote Golf Centre on Saturday 18th of July following its construction by Harworth Estates and leading golf operator N1 Golf.

The Centre, off William Nadin Way in the town, offers a 15-bay floodlit golf range with eight outdoor bays and a reception area and will offer coaching through its teaching academy.  It was officially opened on Saturday by district council chairman, Councillor Neil Atkin, South Derbyshire MP Heather Wheeler, Declan Malone from N1 Golf, and Frank McArdle, Chief Executive of South Derbyshire District Council.

Frank McArdle, who hit the first shot at the Centre, said “The people of Swadlincote have waited a long time for this facility to be brought to life.  The town can only benefit from yet another reason why people will want to come to Swadlincote.

I am delighted that the council’s determination to make this happen has started to be rewarded.”

Declan Malone, director of N1 Golf, said: “I am delighted Swadlincote Golf Centre is finally opening – the driving range is a fantastic practice venue, ideal for anyone wanting to take up golf or improve their skills.

“I know the community has waited a long time to have golf in Swadlincote and I am honoured to have played a part in making this happen, along with Harworth Estates and South Derbyshire District Council chief executive Frank McArdle.”

The completion of the driving range at Cadley Park marks the first phase of the Centre’s development.  Harworth Estates now plans to construct a 9-hole golf course over the next year adjacent to the driving range, followed by a further nine holes in 2017.
