As part of our desire to refill our strategic landbank with new sites, we purchased the former McCormick Tractors site at Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster in December 2015.
A 112 acre major brownfield regeneration site located within one of the core regions that we operate, the site already benefits from an outline planning consent for 800 homes and over 200,000 sq. ft of employment space, in addition to a small income-producing portfolio that generates £183,000 of income per annum.
The majority of the site has already been cleared and the site benefits from its proximity to Doncaster’s urban core and a strong riverside frontage to the north to support future housing. We have now reimagined the development as ‘Riverdale Park’ and we intend to bring forward a mixed-use masterplan for its development in late 2016 which makes the most of its location and its natural assets.
The masterplan will include:
- A revised housing scheme, split into phases that makes the most of the sites natural assets, including the riverside frontage; and
- A number of appropriately sized commercial units aimed at Small & Medium-sized businesses within the region, together with roadside retail uses.
