Harworth Group Shortlisted for Eight Industry Awards

Harworth Group plc has been shortlisted for eight separate awards in recent weeks, reflecting the company’s success in transforming its sites into developments that create new homes and jobs – further highlighting their position as the land and property regenerator of choice in the North of England and the Midlands.

At the start of the year, Harworth was shortlisted for both ‘Property Business’ and ‘Medium Business (51-250 employees)‘ by the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards with the winners to be announced in the Autumn.

The Insider East Midlands Property Awards has also confirmed Harworth as a shortlisted finalist for their prestigious ‘Developer of the Year’ category, where Harworth took home the ‘Regeneration & Restoration Project of the Year’ accolade in 2019 for the ongoing regeneration at Simpson Park in Nottinghamshire, which incidentally is also in the running for ‘Best Project Preparatory Work’ at the forthcoming 2020 Brownfield Awards.

Harworth’s proposed Cinderhill development in Deryshire has also been included on the shortlist at the Brownfield Awards in the three separate categories relating to the company’s work with long-standing environmental liabilities from the site’s adjacent tar pits.

Harworth’s eighth nomination for ‘Outstanding Development’ at the Insider Sheffield City Region Property Dinner places Waverley and The Advanced Manufacturing Park firmly in the spotlight following the delivery of a number of major milestones in the last 12-months, including Harworth’s build out of the UKAEA’s new nuclear fusion research facility at the AMP, the delivery of the new Waverley Primary School and the completion of the latest phase of infrastructure works that provides a road link between Handsworth and Catcliffe that hasn’t been in place since the closure of the Orgreave Coking Works in 1990.

“It’s great for Harworth to build on its growing reputation as a leading master developer, working towards delivering long-term, quality developments with thousands of new homes and jobs being created. Being shortlisted for eight awards this year is a testament to the hard work of the many key stakeholders both public and private particularly through these challenging times.”
