Following acquisition, all buildings and structures that remained on site have now been demolished and a programme of extensive remediation and earthworks has been ongoing to create the first parcels of serviced land for sale. These works also include installing utilities, drainage and infrastructure to the site.
At the start of 2018, the first parcel of land (around 6-acres) was sold to Arnold Clark to build a new 30,000 sq ft car showroom with construction starting on-site shortly.
In 2019, the first two serviced residential plots were sold to Barratt Homes and Taylor Wimpey to respectively build out 191 and 188 new homes.
In 2020, Harworth successfully completed the direct development of a Costa Coffee drive-thru unit on one of the prime commercial plots. The 1,800 sq ft unit was let to Costa at Practical Completion and following a three week tenant fit-out, opened for trade in November 2020.
Also in 2020, Harworth sold the adjacent prime commercial plot to Erindale, who have constructed a Burger King and Taco Bell drive-thru unit.
In December 2021, Harworth sold the housing plot adjacent to the riverside to Harron Homes to construct 139 new homes.
