A recent video produced by the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership highlights Harworth Estates’ key role in supporting their Enterprise zone to be recognised as Number 1 in the UK.
The Financial Times fDI magazine rated it number 1 for modern manufacturing and technology, recognising its strengths in advanced manufacturing & materials and its link to global markets.
Harworth Estates Waverley development is central to this success. Many world leading manufacturing organisations – including Rolls-Royce, Boeing, Dormer Tools, X-Cel Superturn and the University of Sheffield – are already located on the purpose-built site, offering huge potential for collaboration and major capital investment. Enterprise Zone status further builds on this by offering companies locating to Waverley a range of incentives, including business rate relief, 100% enhanced capital allowances and simplified planning.
Duncan Armstrong-Payne, Development Manager for Harworth Estates, said “We’re delighted that Sheffield City Region’s Enterprise Zone is recognised as number one for modern manufacturing. It is testament to the hard work of the LEP and all of the organisations on-site that it has been so successful in creating world-class jobs and products that supports the economic growth of the region.”
Harworth Estates plan to build on this success through its R-Evolution development that will deliver new, high quality employment units of between 10,000 sq. ft and 50,000 sq. ft. New infrastructure will also be created, including access roads, service yards and car parking.
The planning application for R-Evolution was submitted to Rotherham Council at the end of October and is expected to be heard by their Planning Committee towards the end of 2013.
